Anggaran menunjukkan antara 3,000 hingga 4,000 penduduk wilayah autonomi Catalonia di Sepanyol memeluk Islam sejak kebelakangan ini tetapi Brado percaya bilangan mungkin lebih tinggi daripada itu.
Laporan media tempatan menunjukkan intelektual, pakar akademik dan aktivis antiglobalisasi membentuk sebahagian besar saudara baru di Sepanyol. Penduduk Catalonia memeluk Islam buat kali pertama pada 1960-an dan ia cuma sebilangan kecil.

Penang launches statewide free WiFi project:
"GEORGE TOWN: Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng has launched “Penang Free WiFi” - the first step in making Penang the country’s first WiFi state.Good news for Penangites.
The initiative, which is the first component of the state’s Wireless@Penang project, is aimed at giving Penangites free wireless broadband services.
“Today, Penang takes a bold step to make the entire state connected through wireless broadband and it’s a journey we want to complete within the next 18 to 24 months.
“This effort is 100% private sector driven with nearly no or minimal cost put in by the state government. However, there are no rights to exclusivity and all qualified and recognised industry players are welcome to interest of promoting competition,” Lim said at the launch in Komtar on Thursday.
He said the project was different from the Federal Government-initiated High Speed Broadband (HSBB) project costing RM11.3bil.
Lim said a preview of WiMAX@Penang, the state’s next step in providing for serious mobile Internet users who require faster speed, was scheduled for next week.
The Penang Free WiFi project is currently headed by content manager REDtone Telecommunications Sdn Bhd and service enabler Hotgate Technology (M) Sdn Bhd which will set up 750 wireless access points over the next one year.
He said the free WiFi service was already available on Komtar’s concourse level and 28th floor which houses the Chief Minister’s office.
“The WiFi service will be deployed on a ‘ripples strategy’ with simultaneous initial roll-outs in several core market centres on the island and mainland before they spread to cover the entire state,” Lim said.
REDtone group managing director Wei Chuan Beng said they would begin setting up access points in Queensbay Mall and the service should be available within the next four weeks.
“This will be followed by the areas located in Macalister Road, Burma Road, Gurney Plaza and Gurney Drive, Bukit Jambul Complex, Universiti Sains Malaysia, Butterworth and then Tanjung Bungah.
“The connection speed offered is at an average of 10 Mbps, depending on the specification of the notebooks, the speed can vary,” Wei said.
He said the REDtone-Hotgate consortium planned to invest at least RM10mil in the project but expected it to be self-funded from advertisements in the near future."

In 1975, legendary rock group KISS released the album “Dressed to Kill” which featured the classic hit, ”Rock and Roll All Nite”. To honor the group, Vans and KISS teamed up earlier in the year and displayed a few designs, the latest are these Sk8-Hi’s which are inspired by the album’s cover. Study says, early whale had leg
An early whale had large back legs, a tail like a dog's, and a hip-wiggling swimming style, according to a new fossil study.
The discovery helps pinpoint the advent of "modern" whale flukes to between 38 and 40 million years ago, scientists say.
Flukes are the two wide, flat triangular lobes on a whale's back end and are made of skin and connective tissue, with bones in the middle.
Scientists have known whales evolved from semiaquatic, four-footed creatures with long, thin tails to today's fully aquatic mammals with fluked tails, no back legs, and flippers instead of front legs. link
7 World Trade Center
7 World Trade Center is a building in New York City located across from the World Trade Center site in Lower Manhattan.
The name "7 World Trade Center" has referred to two buildings: the original structure, completed in 1987, and the current structure.

Jenis-jenis kanser yang menyerang wanita
Pengurangan risiko kanser boleh dilakukan dengan mengubah gaya dan tatacara kehidupan.
Perhatian perlu diberi pada keadaan badan, perasaan tahap kesihatan diri dan juga bentuk serta rupa struktur badan. Ujian saringan juga perlu ditekankan bagi mengesan kanser dengan lebih awal.
Sel-sel normal yang membina tisu badan mengalami tumbesaran, membahagi serta penggantian secara teratur dan tenteram. Kadangkala sel-sel tua yang sepatutnya digantikan, masih meneruskan tumbesarannya. Pertumbuhan ini mungkin tidak teratur dan bercelaru, akhirnya mereka menjadi luar kawalan dan seterusnya bertukar pada ketumbuhan yang ganas (malignan) ataupun yang tidak ganas (benign).
Ketumbuhan yang tidak ganas (benign) tidak merebak ke bahagian lain dan lazimnya tidak membimbangkan. Pembedahan terpaksa dilakukan jika saiz ketumbuhan terlalu besar dan memberi tekanan kepada organ-organ berhampirannya.

Petanda Awal
Di antara petanda-petanda awal kanser pada bahagian badan berkenaan adalah perubahan pada tabiat kebiasaan pundi kencing dan juga usus besar.
Selain itu, luka-luka yang tidak sembuh, pendarahan ataupun discaj yang tidak pernah dialami, penebalan ataupun tongkol-tongkol pada payudara ataupun bahagian kulit yang lain serta perubahan pada tahi lalat atau mana-mana tompok kulit juga mungkin menjadi petanda awal kanser tertentu.
Pesakit juga perlu peka untuk ujian masalah kesusahan menelan serta keabnormalan pencernaan makanan atau minuman selain batuk yang tidak hilang dan juga perubahan pada suara.
Perlu diingat bahawa ini bukanlah petanda mutlak kanser tetapi hanya kehadiran gejala berkenaan sepatutnya dirujuk kepada doktor.
Kesakitan biasanya bukan tanda-tanda awal kanser. Walau bagaimanapun, jangan ditunggu sehingga kesakitan menjelma, barulah rujukan mahu dibuat kerana ketika itu mungkin sudah terlambat.
Kanser Paru-Paru
Majoriti pesakit mendapat kanser paru-paru dari aktiviti merokok. Wanita yang merokok mempunyai risiko 12 kali ganda lebih tinggi untuk mendapat kanser paru-paru jika dibandingkan dengan mereka yang tidak merokok.
Walaupun jika anda bukan perokok, tapi menyedut asap rokok secara pasif juga dapat menambahkan risiko kanser paru-paru.
Lazimnya tanda-tanda kanser paru-paru hanya jelas kelihatan apabila penyakit tersebut sudah pun di peringkat yang teruk.

Lazimnya kanser kolorektal tidak mempunyai apa-apa petanda peringkat awal, tetapi selalunya didiagnosis pada peringkat lewat.

Perhatian perlu diberi pada keadaan badan, perasaan tahap kesihatan diri dan juga bentuk serta rupa struktur badan. Ujian saringan juga perlu ditekankan bagi mengesan kanser dengan lebih awal.
Sel-sel normal yang membina tisu badan mengalami tumbesaran, membahagi serta penggantian secara teratur dan tenteram. Kadangkala sel-sel tua yang sepatutnya digantikan, masih meneruskan tumbesarannya. Pertumbuhan ini mungkin tidak teratur dan bercelaru, akhirnya mereka menjadi luar kawalan dan seterusnya bertukar pada ketumbuhan yang ganas (malignan) ataupun yang tidak ganas (benign).
Ketumbuhan yang tidak ganas (benign) tidak merebak ke bahagian lain dan lazimnya tidak membimbangkan. Pembedahan terpaksa dilakukan jika saiz ketumbuhan terlalu besar dan memberi tekanan kepada organ-organ berhampirannya.
Ketumbuhan yang ganas pula (malignan), akan menakluk, merosakkan dan merebak pada organ-organ berhampiran dan juga organ yang jauh serta boleh menyebabkan ketumbuhan baru di tempat lain.
Faktor keturunan (kehadiran gen-gen tertentu) juga boleh menyebabkan ketumbuhan berlaku selain pendedahan kepada sinar-sinar tertentu, bahan kimia, virus dan bermacam jenis faktor persekitaran lain.
Jenis-jenis kanser bergantung pada bahagian anatomi badan yang terlibat seperti paru-paru, payudara, kulit, ovari, rahim, pangkal rahim, faraj, vulva, usus besar dan rektum.
Semua penyakit boleh dicegah atau dirawat sekiranya pengesanan dapat dilakukan pada peringkat awal.
Lazimnya terdapat tanda-tanda awal yang harus diamati dan diperhatikan. Juga sebagai satu bentuk pencegahan, golongan wanita dinasihatkan supaya menjalani penyaringan secara berkala untuk mengenal pasti kanser di peringkat awal.
Petanda Awal
Di antara petanda-petanda awal kanser pada bahagian badan berkenaan adalah perubahan pada tabiat kebiasaan pundi kencing dan juga usus besar.
Selain itu, luka-luka yang tidak sembuh, pendarahan ataupun discaj yang tidak pernah dialami, penebalan ataupun tongkol-tongkol pada payudara ataupun bahagian kulit yang lain serta perubahan pada tahi lalat atau mana-mana tompok kulit juga mungkin menjadi petanda awal kanser tertentu.
Pesakit juga perlu peka untuk ujian masalah kesusahan menelan serta keabnormalan pencernaan makanan atau minuman selain batuk yang tidak hilang dan juga perubahan pada suara.
Perlu diingat bahawa ini bukanlah petanda mutlak kanser tetapi hanya kehadiran gejala berkenaan sepatutnya dirujuk kepada doktor.
Kesakitan biasanya bukan tanda-tanda awal kanser. Walau bagaimanapun, jangan ditunggu sehingga kesakitan menjelma, barulah rujukan mahu dibuat kerana ketika itu mungkin sudah terlambat.
Kanser Paru-Paru
Majoriti pesakit mendapat kanser paru-paru dari aktiviti merokok. Wanita yang merokok mempunyai risiko 12 kali ganda lebih tinggi untuk mendapat kanser paru-paru jika dibandingkan dengan mereka yang tidak merokok.
Walaupun jika anda bukan perokok, tapi menyedut asap rokok secara pasif juga dapat menambahkan risiko kanser paru-paru.
